Photoshoot Favorites

Recently I had a photoshoot with my friend and photographer, Greg Pristell. I have a few favorites I use a few days before a shoot, event, etc. I have to share with you. All face products, all under $29.99.

Step One: Clay Mask

Boots Botanics Shine Away Iconic Clay Mask:

Claims: This mineral rich oceanic clay mask contains a negative electrical charge which acts like a magnet helping to draw deep rooted impurities out of the skin without drying. The hydrating and oil absorbing properties found in Botanic’s Shine Away Ionic Clay Mask leave skin soft, smooth and wonderfully cleansed.

This mask is a dead giveaway for the GlamGlow original mud mask. It applies dark ivy, morphing into a light sage-tinted green eating away at your blackheads and pores. It is one of those masks which sucks the life out of your skin so be careful doing this more than once a week. It doesn’t dry my skin out nearly as badly as some other clay masks do, but you definitely do feel those negative charges pumping away at your blood cells. This mask should be the first step in your routine since it’s drawing out the impurities in your pores; you need time to get rid of it all before those pictures get taken!

Step Two: Exfoliate & Tone

Mario Badescu Botanical Exfoliating Scrub

Claims: Banish dullness and fight dead skin cell buildup with Mario Badescu Botanical Exfoliating Scrub, an exfoliant formulated to refine and perfect skin’s condition with nourishing botanicals.

This scrub is serious. Like AHA, BHA, all the way live type of scrub. It’s a gel formula which stays a gel and doesn’t foam up– foams are usually a breeding ground for bacteria–and is unusually gentle and effective. I’d say this does everything it says.

After all this clay and botanical enzymes (I just realized while writing this, botanicals has been a theme) you need a toner to wipe away the excess and balance your PH. I don’t care what anyone says, toning is a VITAL step to your skincare routine, especially when getting ready to zoom in on your pores.

Mario Badescu Special Cucumber Lotion:

Claims: Refreshing, disinfecting and deep cleaning astringent that is effective in drying up existing acne blemishes while preventing new eruptions. Sulfur and soothing cucumber based, acne fighting formula that is non-drying and non-irritating.

This toner wipes away all the dirt and residue without drying out your skin. Period. This doesn’t do any fancy tricks for me personally; I need a good witch hazel toner for that.

Last but certainly not least: Hair Removal.

Sally Hansen Creme Hair Remover Kit

Claims: Sally Hansen Crème Hair Remover Kit is great for fast, pain-free hair removal! Exclusive moisturizing Collagen and Vitamin E lotion softens and conditions skin.

This is an obvious one, right dolls? Get rid of the lady stach and beard. 8 minutes and your smooth sailing. This That Beauty introduced me to this one via Snapchat, and it truly is a gem.

*I love these product pictures, they look like superheroes!
