The Best Pedicure You’ll Ever Get

Aztec Healing Clay Foot Mask Picture.jpg

Although summer is quickly coming to an end, I thought I’d share my best-kept at home pedicure secret with you all. I have soo many at home spa treatments-all of which we’ll get to, I promise!-but this is one of my favorites:  it works quickly and is so fun to put on.

Aztec Indian Healing Clay: one of the best-hidden gems in Whole Foods. Also the best bargain in Whole Foods, which you know is rare. I found this through the blogger Hey Fran Hey, who uses it on her face. It’s the base of this foot mask: when mixed with equal parts Apple Cider Vinegar, water, and a few drops of essential oils, it becomes the

Apple Cider Vinegar:  My favorite all-purpose product in my house, serving as: a probiotic, an exfoliator, a muscle relaxant, and overall detoxifier. This ingredient is essential to the foot mask, as it exfoliates the feet and eats up any odor and bacteria.

Your essential oil is up to your preference; sometimes when it’s super hot–as in NYC right now, a high of 90 degrees, shoot me–I go with peppermint oil. Peppermint oil also helps with any headaches or fevers, as it cools down the feet and brings heat and pain rush from the top of your head to the bottom of your feet, and relieve you almost instantly. Lavender oil is just a calming, slightly cooling sensation which definitely calms the mind and the rest of your body down. It also destroys the smell of ACV!

2 Tablespoons ACV, 1 Tablespoon of Aztec Clay, and a couple of drops of oil and you have your mask. 30 minutes on your feet, and you have the smoothest, odorless, sandal-ready pedi.
