New In: Fall Skincare

Before I started full-time work, I was able to have a few days off to decompress, plan stories for this blog, and most importantly, shop.

I knew I wanted to treat myself to some lovely skincare, since being in the subway and in an office can reek havoc on your skin: with air conditioning, humidity, and my relentless quest of wearing a full face in 70% humidity, I need a few products to help me out.

Clinique Rinse-Off Foaming Cleanser: This cleanser is amazing. I’m using the Yes to Tomatoes Detoxifying Charcoal Cleanser, which is amazing for stripping the skin down to it’s most clean; but sometimes I just need a gentle cleanse. I’ve tried Cetaphil before, and it’s just as drying as charcoal cleansers. The mousse formula of the Clinique cleanser gently removes every spec of dirt, grime, and overall NYC mess off my face without stripping it down. So far, so good.

Belif Problem Solution Essence: I’ve done it: I jumped on the essence bandwagon. For the longest time I thought they were a useless gimmick, and as soon as I got a few more coins in my pocket, I ran to the Belif isle for a few tests. After testing the consistency of the Belif Essence, I knew I needed it. It feels creamy and hydrating without being oily or greasy, and helps to mattify and balance the skin. It also has Willowbark Extract, which is one of my favorite skincare ingredients -may do a blog post on it one day? hmm-and Tea Tree Oil, which I put on head-to-toe. Overall, an amazing serum which has hidden my pores and evened out my skin’s texture like nothing else I’ve ever tried.

Josie Maran Argan Oil Pure Argan Milk Intensive Hydrating Treatment: As I scraped down to the last of my Ole Hendrickson gel moisturizer, I knew my skin needed more. More hydration, without being too greasy. I thought about purchasing a gel-cream moisturizer per usual, and a skincare oil–my personal favorite is the Clarins one for oily skin– then I came across this. It’s a gel-cream-moisturizer-oil in one. It’s fantastic. Do not walk, RUN to buy this. I might start investing in the QVC jumbo sizes. I go to bed looking slightly greasy, and wake up glowing, smooth and soft. This gets an A+ from me also; I just love it when a haul justifies itself!

  1. “and my relentless quest of wearing a full face in 70% humidity” – haha yes honey! And I just got a sample of Belif hydrating moisturizer as a 100 point perk or w/e from Sephora the other day. so far so good! Ingredients don’t look too bad either.
